Figure eight knot

Robert Moss Jan 27, 2017 01:13PM EST

On the deck general final quiz a figure eight knot is used to be a stopper. In the module it is used to prevent line passing through a sheave. In the lecture it is called out as both. What is the correct answer?

It is also known as a stopper knot which could be used to prevent a line from running through a sheave.

If you have a specific question asked in the course you would need to provide me with the exact question and given responses for me to answer further.

I ran into this one too. It's this question:
The "figure eight" knot is used to...
Select one:
a. Be a stopper
b. Shorten a line
c. Join lines of equal size
d. Keep a line from passing through a sheave

Both a and d would seem to be correct to me, but only a. is considered the correct answer.

I had the same issue with that question.
