Test Question Incorrect?

Wayne Cochran Mar 03, 2017 01:23PM EST

On the quiz for lifesaving equipment, the question and answer on-line is listed below:
How many distress flares are uninspected passanger vessels required to carry?

3 rocket parachute red day/night flares
3 aerial pyrotechnic red day/night flares
3 handheld red day/night flares
All of the above

This is not correct, and uninspected passenger vessel is required to have either 3 rocket parachutes or 3 aerial or 3 handheld. By stating the answer is all the that means they are carrying 9 flares which is not a requiremnt.
Answer D could have read - Any of A,B or C is correct, not all.

No, since this is a multiple choice question and all of the given replies are correct then that would mean the “D” all of the above is the correct response to this question. Enjoy your upcoming weekend.

I have to agree with the original poster, I got this question wrong as well and found it confusing after reviewing the test results.

"ALL OF THE ABOVE" implies that you are required to carry ALL 3 of the above choices when OUPV's are only required to carry 1 out of the 3 options so "ANY of the above" would be a better way to phrase it.
